Over the last few decades, the automobile industry moved all car manufacturing previously conducted in Australia offshore, which impacted over 40,000 employees.  

Overall, the manufacturing industry has declined more than any other sector in Australia, despite reports now suggesting that this sector will be pivotal for creating the infrastructure and products required to support the country’s net zero transition. We’re also seeing that consumers value Australian-made products, with recent research by Roy Morgan indicating that 72% of people prefer to purchase locally manufactured options.

EVOS uses as many local suppliers as possible, and we only import one component from Germany, purely because there are no locally made options. 5.7% of Australia’s GDP is comprised of manufacturing and we’re immensely proud to add to that figure.

Reducing our Carbon Footprint

If current projections continue, shipping could represent 10% of global emissions by 2050. EVOS’s localised production means that we don’t contribute to that figure. Further, the environmental standards in Australia ensures that the manufacturing sector is more regulated and controlled than overseas options.
