Dumb Charger
There are two types of EV chargers that you should know about. The first type is a smart charger that has advanced features and connectivity capabilities. The other type is a 'dumb' or normal charger that excludes advanced features and simply charges your vehicle.
What is a dumb charger?
A dumb charger is a term used to describe a normal electric vehicle charger that lacks advanced features and connectivity capabilities. Unlike smart EV chargers, dumb EV chargers have a fixed charging speed and don't support connecting to the cloud, home, connected devices or the internet.
We recommend checking your local laws and regulations when considering the purchase of a dumb or normal charger as some locations require smart charging capabilities to support the energy grid.
